Euchan logo webThe non-profit making association EUCHAN is a real audiovisualexchangenetwork between Europe and China. In fact, it has developed bilateral exchanges on cinema and television matters for the past 25 years. The association has participated and organised many festivals, helped to promote movies but also manages audiovisual archives as well as an information website. Today, EUCHAN is reckoned on an international level as a benchmark in its field.

Promote and broadcast Chinese cinema

Feature official and independant Chinese films in theaters or during festivals in Belgium but also all around Europe.

Screening of Belgian and European films at Chinese international festivals like Changchun, Shangai and Beijing since 1992.

Responsible of the 2008 Cinéchine festival programming, expert at Europalia China 2010.

Permanent contact in China : Ministry of Audiovisual, The Film Bureau, China Film Coproduction, Cinematheque of Beijing, Festivals organisers, actors, directors, specialised press…

Exceptionnal ressources

A collection of 3000 Chinese films and movies about China (fiction and documentary films 16 & 35 mm, VHS, VCD, DVD). The association also has a large collection of pictures, books, magazines, posters and paper documents devoted to Chinese cinema. These films and documentaries have been available since 2010 in the Chinese Film Fund offices of the Royal Belgian Film Archive.

Consultant for several documentaries that was made based on our archives (TV programs, conferences, films).

A free newsletter

Since January 2005, EUCHAN has published a weekly newsletter “Voir la Chine… en Belgique” which is delivered by email via www.euchan.eu. This newsletter intends to inform the public about China related activities happening in Belgium as well as Chinese movies and documentaries about China broadcast in Belgium and Europe.

Educational activities and projects

Assist European students as well as Chinese students in the writing of their final year thesis work.

Developed exchanges between two Brussels schools of cinema and the Academy of Beijing film.
